Prestigious Ernest Assaly Award Recognizes achievements of Stittsville Builder Once Again

KANATA, Ontario, (October 1, 2003) - Land Ark Homes is pleased to announce that they have been named Ontario's Builder of the Year by Ontario New Home Warranty Program (ONHWP) in the large volume builder category. This prestigious award was awarded to the company at the Ontario Home Builders Association Conference in Muskoka on Thursday September 25.

"Two wins in a row is exceptional and has never been done before", says an ecstatic Stephen Rolston from Deerhurst Resort.

"Earning that distinction required a continuous effort on our part to maintain our quality construction standards and high level of customer satisfaction. But it also required a vision of how a building company should be organized and managed in order to create value for the customer from the initial design stage to after move-in warranty service.

"Diana and I can't take all the credit for this award. Our company has been recognized for its exceptional after sale service and superior quality of construction. Building each home right the first time continues to be our company motto. We all work together to strive to deliver each house defect-free, on-time. Each of our homes is completed at least one week prior to closing at which time members of our Team view each home closely. With so much time, all deficiencies are rectified prior to any clients moving into their home. If any after sales service is required, it is generally of a cosmetic nature and not mandatory under the guidelines of the Warranty Program. Theses issues are dealt with promptly and professionally by Michael Engler, our Service Manager.

Every year, ONHWP recognizes excellence in customer service and quality of construction with the Ernest Assaly Builder Awards Program. A select few of the many exceptional builders across Ontario are recognized for their contribution to the industry.

Judging for this prestigious provincial award included interviews with customers, municipal building inspectors and on-site inspections of quality of construction. Winners of the Regional Builder of the Year awards met with the ONHWP Board of Directors in Toronto Thursday September 18. This event included an interactive session between Finalists, ONHWP Regional Managers and Directors followed by a company interview session. At the end of the evening, Board of Director members voted, by secret ballot, for their choice for Ontario Builder of the Year in categories of small volume, large volume and high rise builder.

This year's award for Ontario Builder of the Year was presented at the Ontario Home Builders' Association Awards Luncheon on September 25, 2002 at Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville, Ontario.
